The Village Shop team in Aberuthven are preparing for a very busy November as finalists in two separate business awards.
On Sunday 11th November they will be at Huntingtower Hotel for the finals of the Perth and Kinross Business Awards. The Village Shop has been nominated in the Best New Business category and reached the final with the decision of the winner being announced at the event.
Later in the month they will be attending Crieff Hydro for the finals of the Perthshire Chamber of Commerce Business Star Awards. This time as a finalist in the Independent Retailer of the Year category.
These awards are a well deserved recognition of the efforts made by the Village Shop team over the past year.
Not only does the shop cater for local villagers with basic day to day supplies, it also provides an outside catering service for local residents and businesses and a hot and cold food takeaway service.
The shop has gone from strength to strength in recent months as the team continue to expand the services offered to local residents. More recently adding a delivery service for both groceries and takeaways.
Since opening in April 2017 the shop has undergone some changes as the team have built on suggestions from local residents and customers. Most recently changing to biodegradable packaging for much of their fresh food.
Owner Clare Dodds said “I am over the moon to have the team recognised not once but twice for their efforts to provide what our customers need. We pride ourselves on serving our local community and listening to our customers.
I would also like to thank the local community for their support of the shop in its first year. Over the next year we are looking to expand our services and offer more to make sure the shop is doing the best it can for local residents.”
