The press conference this afternoon laid out the new measures for trying to slow down the spread of coronavirus. The main points are as follows –
If you or anyone in your household has either one of the two symptoms of a temperature over 37.8 or a new persistent cough then stay at home for 14 days – don’t go out for food or essentials – limit social contact
Even if don’t have symptoms and no one in house has symptoms – everyone should stop non essential contact with others and non essential travel.
Avoid gatherings and crowded places – pubs, clubs theatres and other such things
Avoiding all unnecessary contact is particularly important for over 70s, pregnant women and those with serious health conditions.
Focussing on the most vulnerable – by the weekend it will be necessary to go further to try and ensure those with most serious health conditions are shielded from contact for the next 12 weeks.
At this time, it is important that we look after those who are not able to carry out their normal daily routines. Please join the forum, join the facebook page, pop a note through an elderly neighbour’s door.
If someone needs something publicised please let me know and I will do my best to get it out there.
