Pupils from P4/5 at The Community School of Auchterarder joined members of the Rotary Club of Auchterarder and Auchterarder Bloom Association for some tree planting.
The current Rotary International President Ian Riseley has challenged every Rotarian in the world to plant a tree this year to help the environment. With 1.2 million Rotary members worldwide, this challenge will have a significant impact on reducing co2 levels in the earth’s atmosphere.
In responding to this challenge, the Rotary Club of Auchterarder and District, together with members of Auchterarder Bloom Association and 22 P4/5 schoolchildren from the Community School of Auchterarder planted 50 native trees, including oak, beech and silver birch, along Provost walk in Auchterarder today.
A fantastic effort by all involved and we look forward to watching the trees grow through the years.
