Auchterarder and District Community Council received correspondence from Perth and Kinross Council regarding the Townhead/Parkside junction. A consultation is being held to decide the future of this section of the road. The correspondence reads –
“Following complaints about the lack of visibility from Parkside and the lack of compliance of the mini-roundabout by some drivers, Perth and Kinross Council has been tasked with replacing the roundabout with a priority junction. While visibility will be improved, this may lead to an increase in vehicle speeds along Townhead. To offset this, a vehicle activated sign has been installed on the west-bound approach to the junction.
Please see attached consultation drawing which shows the existing mini-roundabout to be removed and a new give-way junction to be installed on Townhead with its junction with Parkside.
We are consulting with Local Residents, Elected Member and the Community Council, if you have any comments can you please pass them to me. These comments will be collated and passed back to the Local Elected Members and Community Council who will take the final decision as to whether or not the mini roundabout is changed to a priority junction.”
