Blackford Folk Trio Tarneybackle, and Blackford based tandem, “The (much travelled) Bike”, propelled by Bob and Marguerite, will welcome cyclists from Auchterarder on Sunday 23rd April to the Blackford Paths Project launch event at 11.45am at the Moray Institute, Blackford. Cyclists, as well as others with an interest in local paths, can expect a warm welcome, complimentary refreshments and home baking.
Along with “Matilda”, the Auchterarder based tandem, steered by Colin and Diane, it is hoped other cyclists from Auchterarder, and beyond, will brave the Bardill Road from Gleneagles, due to the closure of the Blackford Level Crossing on this date.
“Tarneybackle Tourists” John, Lorna and Sandy, and the two tandems will cycle round the village and back to the Moray Institute where Tarneybackle will perform a few songs at the Launch Event at 12.30
The Drop-In Launch Event at the Moray Institute, Blackford on 23rd April from 11am to 3pm will give opportunities for everyone interested in paths for cycling and walking in the Blackford area to feed in their ideas and information to the project, to discuss ideas with Blackford Community Council’s consultant, Crispin Hayes and to look at maps of possible routes for cycling from Blackford to the Auchterarder area. Blackford Community Council are grateful to Tactran and the Climate Challenge Fund for funding the community consultation and the planned technical survey of suitable routes. All cyclists and walkers welcome to support the launch.
An online paths consultation is now open at bit.ly/blackfordpaths. Have your say !
