After yesterday’s post regarding the lack of childcare locally, the Childcare Strategy Team from Perth and Kinross Council got in touch. They have some great initiatives to help people who would like to become a childminder. After yesterdays article we know there is a demand in the area.
The team asked me to let people know about the support they offer and are happy to hear from anyone considering becoming a childminder in the local area.
The team works with people who are considering childminding as a career by running free introductory sessions and pre-registration training courses as well as offering start-up grants, ongoing training and support. People are advised to contact the team for further information or to book places Tel 01738 472350, Email email@example.com or see www.pkc.gov.uk/childminding.
They held an introductory session last week and the next pre-registration course is running on Wednesday 21 and Thursday 22 March. The team would be happy to go over the introductory session content on an individual basis if that would allow people from the Auchterarder area to attend.
So please if you are considering being a childminder, take this opportunity to get in touch with the team.
