On Saturday 9th September “the most amazing cinema bus in the world” Is coming to Auchterarder. That is how George Clarke, Amazing Spaces, describes this unique historical gem.
The one-of-a-kind mobile cinema and technological piece of British history will show clips and short movies from the British Passe Archive as of noon on 9th September. A short 15min session (2 per hour) will cost £5 with 2 longer evening screenings costing £10 per person.
In 1967, The Ministry of Technology built seven of these custom mobile cinema units to tour the country, promoting modern production techniques to British industry, now the last in existence tours the length and breadth of the United Kingdom making appearances at Festivals (including Edinburgh Fringe) Corporate and Private events.
The cinema bus which is affectionately referred to as Audrey, brings together a unique slice of cinema and automotive history, combined together to give the audience an exciting film viewing experience unavailable anywhere else. Audery will journey from Aberdeen to Auchterarder before heading home to Bicester Heritage.
Tickets are available at Corbie & Cheip delicatessen and Wine bar on Main street Auchterarder who are hosting a pre and post screening drinks and dinner event at the deli complete with authentic gin cocktails and classic dishes, they are even dusting off their old gramophone for the occasion should visitors fancy a dance or two. The arrival of the Vintage Mobile Cinema kick starts the 2nd Birthday Celebrations of the Award Winning Delicatessen and Wine Bar.
