Support Parkdale Before It’s Too Late

Urgent! Help needed to show your support to keep Parkdale open.  The consultation regarding the future of Parkdale is moving forward and will soon be over.  It is imperative that as much support as possible is put forward for Parkdale.

Please take a few minutes to send an email to and to show your support for the retention of Parkdale as a working care home.

Feel free to use the template below to copy and paste.  Remember to put your name and address at the bottom otherwise Luke Graham cannot act upon it.  You need to be in his constituency.

To whom it may concern

I am writing in regard to the consultation by Perth and Kinross Council and the Health and Social Care Partnership, regarding the future of the Council’s residential care homes.

I would like to have my support for the retention of Parkdale to be put forward to the consultation.

The Parkdale facility is well used and a great asset to the community of Auchterarder and District.  With an aging population and a number of new residents over retirement age, Parkdale is going to become more and more important in the coming years.

The effect of families having to travel to Perth or further afield to visit family members can be exceedingly detrimental to both health and relationships.  In some cases a remaining partner will be unable to undertake regular travel and the relationship will suffer.  Surely this is counter intuitive to the aims of caring for the elderly?

Please remove the closure of Parkdale as an option of this consultation and stop the prospect of families being torn apart in their later years.

Name and address

  1. My mother has been in Parkdale since 2008, she is very happy there and always tells me how good they are to her and how well fed she is. She cannot praise the staff too highly.
I live in America and it is a great relief to me knowing she is so well looked after. She is 97 years old and i dread to think how she would react if she was moved from Parkdale.
