It’s almost 7am on the morning of 22nd April 2018. For many of us this will be way too early to be contemplating anything energetic. For four of our community however, this is the day they have been training for. Months of blood, sweat and tears have gone into making sure they are as ready as they can be to run a distance of 26.2 miles through the streets of London.
At 10am they will join the thousands of other runners starting their epic adventure, putting their training and their bodies to the test. Reports are coming in of this possibly being the hottest London Marathon on record. Anyone who manages to cross the finish line in the expected conditions will have managed a fantastic feat of endurance. Let’s make sure we support our local runners and cheer them on as much as possible.

Both A’bi and Danielle are relatively new to running and have chosen to take their efforts to even greater heights by entering the London Marathon.
Also running today we have our two running maisters, Fiona and Steven Watt. Organisers of the Five Star Active running club and Auchterarder Running Festival. Between them, Fiona and Steven have managed to help hundreds of local residents get out and start running.
Keep an eye out for our local participants and please take a few minutes to donate to their chosen causes or write your support in the comments below.
We wish you well and we will try to send a blast of cool air down to help you over the finish line.
