As everyone prepares for the return to school next week, please do remember the works being carried out in the town.
Before the October holidays parking was already at a premium in the town. The main road through the town suffered delays at the beginning and end of the school day. Not only because of the school but also because of people trying to get to work for 9am.
With works being carried out to improve the electricity supply, these difficulties will be compounded. A number of parking spaces in the centre of town are out of commission. Traffic lights for the works have been installed very close to the school. These measures will have an effect on the traffic when school starts again next week.
It’s not going to be easy and travelling through the town is certainly not going to be smooth at the beginning and end of the school day. If you can avoid travelling through Auchterarder at these times please do.
The works to upgrade the electrical supply will be ongoing in various locations throughout the High Street from now until March next year. These works will often cause delays in travelling through the town, especially at the beginning and end of the school day. Be prepared to change your estimated travel time for the duration.
