The relatives and friends of the Save Parkdale Residential Care Home Campaign have been continuing to work hard on the campaign to save Parkdale. The timescales to respond have been very short and a decision on Parkdale might be taken as early as January 2018. Despite the challenging time frame a number of actions have been taken including the following:
A report has been produced outlining the reasons why Parkdale should not be closed. This report has been submitted to the Integration Joint Board which will be considering the recommendations on the future of Parkdale. The report has also been circulated to Councillors, MSPs. and others.
The Facebook online petition is continuing and now has over 1,800 signatures. You can still help by signing up on Facebook and Change.org
A paper petition has also been organised and almost 500 people have signed this. The target is 1,000 signatures and you can still help by dropping into any of the following places to sign:
• Post Office
• Niblick Pub
• Glendevon Hotel
• Davidson’s Chemist
• Golf Club
• St Margaret’s Surgery
• No 57 hairdressers
• Hair Plus
Members of the Support Parkdale Group will also be in Auchterarder whenever possible to promote the signing of the petition.
The group are also seeking letters of support from individuals and local organisations such as the Community Council, Rotary Club and St Margaret’s Health Centre. These will be helpful to go alongside and support the signed petition.
The Save Parkdale Group do not have all the answers and need the help of the wider community. Any support and advice you can offer would be very welcome. Your letters of support to be included along with the petition are important. You can do this by contacting Karen McRostie on firstname.lastname@example.org or 07889045001 Karen will relay your suggestions of support to the campaign group
