Family panto Aladdin will be the first home-produced show in the transformed Perth Theatre.
Perth Theatre’s artistic director, Lu Kemp will direct Aladdin which will star the Fair City’s favourite dame, Barrie Hunter and cast of new and familiar faces.
Mwahahahahahaaaa! Body-popping, break-dancing baddy Abanazer is going to win the panto! Can our heroes Aladdin and Jasmine stop him? Can our own Dame Barrie Hunter? Not without your help… Join us, and save the world with a foot-stamping, toe-tapping, fabulous Perth family panto! We’re back on Perth Theatre’s glorious restored main-stage for our first home-produced show of the season!
Packed with the usual in-jokes, songs, fun and laughter, panto returns to its rightful home in Perth’s much-loved Christmas tradition.
Lu Kemp said:
“It feels absolutely right that our first home-produced show in the newly restored Perth Theatre should be panto, an event beloved by Perth audiences. We hope this year to outdo ourselves and your expectations – with everything you hope for from a panto and more! It will be a silly, splendid, rollercoaster of a Christmas treat.”
The restored and redeveloped Perth Theatre will reopen in October with an access all areas Opening Week, inviting audiences into every aspect of the theatre’s work. This will be followed by the Southbank Centre’s Women of the World (WOW) Festival, a weekend of events and activities celebrating the achievements of women and girls everywhere and championing gender equality. The full Perth Theatre reopening season will be announced on Tuesday 30 May.
