MPs Vote On First Proposed Amendment to the Brexit Bill

After 2 hours of debating the House of Commons has now voted on first Lords amendment, which requires the government to secure the rights of residency of EU citizens currently in the UK. MPs were asked if they “disagree” with the amendment.

The announcement has now been made regarding the result of that vote

Aye 335 Nay 287 so the ayes have it and the first amendment has been rejected.
