A joyous, uplifting night of contemporary and traditional songs and tunes starring a fabulous line-up of Perthshire musicians.
Made in Perthshire was originally commissioned to celebrate the tenth anniversary of Perth Concert Hall in Sep 2015 under the musical direction of two of Scotland’s finest young composers and traditional musicians, Perthshire’s own Ross Ainslie and Patsy Reid.
The show was conceived to showcase their stellar writing and musicianship alongside other traditional and contemporary pieces with strong Perthshire connections. It delivered this in sensational style on its debut performance, a wonderful night of music that will live long in the memory of all who were there; the traditional sounds at its core tastefully spiced with rock dynamics, powerful songwriting, classical colours and jazz vibrations. We are delighted restage this fantastic concert to coincide with a performance at Celtic Connections festival in Glasgow.
Made in Perthshire also features two more outstanding artists making waves well beyond their native county, songwriters Fraser Anderson and Lisa Rigby. A top-class band featuring Ali Hutton, Hamish Napier, Graeme Stephen, Signy Jakobsdottir and Ben Nicholls, a string section and a 20-strong choir complete a hugely talented line-up. Don’t miss this second – and last! – chance to catch this joyous, uplifting night of songs and tunes old and new.
