It’s been a bit of a rollercoaster ride over the last six weeks as Lang Toon Times has come back in print and online bringing local news to the community. One thing that has come through whether in conversations or in comments on the sites and pages is that people want to find out what is going on locally.
So far, I have found out that Blackford Inn is doing food and events, the local paths are being upgraded with Provost’s Walk being upgraded right now. The Primrose Park has had some work done with more to follow later this year.
There are community groups for the paths, the park, allotments, Aberuthven Village Hall and looking at the comments on a local Facebook page there could be a group set up to try and reduce the amount of dog fouling being left lying in the area.
With The Community School of Auchterarder covering Blackford, Dunning and Aberuthven there is ample opportunity for all the local communities to pull together and help support each other’s causes.
Lang Toon Times and its associated websites are hoping to become a focal point for all local groups, helping let local residents find out what is happening in their area by giving them local news.
Please do get in touch if you are member of a local group and let us know what is going on.
With the recognition of fake news on social media and biased reporting coming from various international news agencies more and more people are returning to locally based information. Whether that is local newspapers or websites. Lang Toon Times was borne from the lack of local news available in other publications and will continue to grow and expand bringing local news from local people.
To this end there is a new look site for Lang Toon Times and Auchterarder.net, please let us know of any information you feel should be included so we can let others know.
