You may remember sometime last year when there was a funding initiative from Perth and Kinross Council which allowed local groups to apply for funding. An event was held in the Aytoun Hall and local people voted for whom they wished the money to go to. It was called Strathallan Decides.
You may also have seen on Lang Toon Times website and in the paper that another round of funding was available for local groups with applications due in the middle of December.
There have been a few changes in this second round of funding. The amount a group can request has risen considerably and the event in Auchterarder is not happening. It is now named Strathearn and Strathallan Decide, the funding is no longer divided between the two areas.
There are voting papers available just inside the Institute door and at the Co-op. You must choose 5 groups on this voting slip or your preferences will not be counted. There are 15 options with 2 from our local area. The Auchterarder Mans Shed and Dunning Tennis Club for youth development. The rest of the options are from the Muthill and Crieff area.
Please take a few minutes to fill in a voting form with Auchterarder Mens Shed, Dunning Tennis Club and 3 other choices. There must be 5 choices to make the voting slip valid.
The event where the final decision is being made is to be held in Crieff on 3rd February at the Strathearn Community Campus between 11am and 2pm. There is no event in Auchterarder this time round. This will obviously help the Crieff groups more in gaining support so please help our local groups by voting with the decision slips available in the town.
This funding is completely dependent on local people showing their support. Let’s give our two local groups as much support as we can.
