The Auchterarder branch of Bank of Scotland is scheduled to close on 27th August 2020. The branch and cash machine facilities will no longer be available from this date.
Bank of Scotland have stated in Part 1 of the Closing Branch Review that the Auchterarder branch is used less than 30% as much as a typical branch for personal banking. This review also states that only 174 customers use the branch on a regular monthly basis.
There will be a mobile banking service put in place as an alternative with the timetable being published nearer the time of the branch closure.
The Closing Branch Review suggests that customers can do much of their banking at the local Post Office or visit their nearest branches at either Crieff or Perth.
With the largest percentage of personal banking customers being over the age of 75, this will have a disproportionate affect on the elderly in our community. It is to be hoped that the mobile banking facility will deliver a service suited to the needs of these customers.
