A beauty lodge in the Scottish glens with a distinctly 1920s feel

Gleneagles has launched Bob & Cloche – an exciting new beauty destination on the grounds of the iconic Perthshire sporting estate.

Located just a stone’s throw from the hotel, the former gate lodge has been transformed into a series of elegant beauty rooms, and is named after two style motifs of the Jazz age – the racy ‘bob’ haircut, and the close-fitting ‘cloche’ (meaning “bell’) hat by French milliner Caroline Riboux.

Bob & Cloche’s bold Art Deco-inspired designs, which celebrate Gleneagles’ rich 1920s heritage and the decadent spirit of that time, echo the renovations that have seen the rest of the hotel transformed over the last 20 months.

The various beauty rooms – including a nail bar, pedicure room, hairstyling room and treatment rooms – showcase contemporary ivory leather chairs and stools, bespoke golden-framed mirrors, opulent furnishings and a striking colour palette of dusty pink, pale green and black.

The effect is an effortlessly elegant ambience, which pays homage to an era when dressing up for dinner and dancing the night away at Gleneagles was reserved for society’s brightest young things.

A stylish relaxation area, with its roaring fire and deep velvet sofas, is reminiscent of a cosy drawing room and is the perfect place for friends to unwind and chat between treatments, while the luxurious dressing room, with its velvet chaise lounges and vintage drinks trolleys, adds glamour and fun to the ritual of trying on outfits and perfecting a look before dinner.

Using OSKIA, OPI, Kerastase and Jane Iredale products, Bob & Cloche’s team of expert therapists and stylists are on hand to put the glamour back into grooming , offering a unique range of beauty treatments and packages for individuals, couples and groups of friends.

Whatever the occasion – whether it’s an indulgent get-together for six girlfriends; a retreat after a day of vigorous country pursuits; a mother and daughter pampering day; a pre-event makeover; or treatments for the bridal party on the morning of the wedding – the Bob & Cloche experience has been designed to be as relaxing as possible.

Guests can head out on adventures in the glorious playground in the morning – over at the clay shooting range, out on the off-road driving courses, or out in the Perthshire hills and glens – before arriving at Bob & Cloche in a chauffeur-driven car, and emerging primed and polished in the afternoon.

Bob & Cloche is available to hire exclusively for groups of friends or for bridal parties. There are a range of beauty packages available that can be tailored to suit individual preferences. Room rates at Gleneagles start from £265 per night based on two people sharing on a bed and breakfast basis. www.gleneagles.com
