Congratulations to Auchterarder Men’s Shed and Dunning Tennis Club Youth Development who today were awarded funding from the Participatory Budgeting scheme.
This scheme enables local residents to decide how public money should be spent in their communities. The Scottish Government supports PB as a way of empowering communities, and is funding local projects to increase community participation and get services to put the needs of the community at the heart of their planning.
Community groups in Perth and Kinross can apply for funds to spend on community-led projects that tackle inequalities. Projects should respond to local priorities in their area such as activities for young people, social isolation, employment and training, community transport, improving access to local services or tackle health and social care issues, poverty, age or disabilities.
Both local projects are well deserving of the funding with projects benefiting both young and old within the community.
