Tullibardine’s 15-Year-Old has been awarded with a Double Gold medal at the prestigious 2020 International Spirits Challenge.

The exceptional single malt, distilled after the reopening of the distillery in 2003, has been recognised at the world-renowned award ceremony which is now in its 25th year.

Winners at the awards go through a rigorous judging process involving blind tasting by panels of more than 50 top industry professionals, before deciding whether the whisky is worth a Double Gold, Gold, Silver or Bronze medal.

The Tullibardine 15-Year-Old wowed the expert judging panel with its range of aromas and flavours. On the nose is delicate dried hay and Parma Violets, with touches of baked apple, cloves and vanilla ice-cream. Then, there’s notes of freshly baked scones with hints of strawberry jam and clotted cream, married with delicate spices leading to a finish of subtle nuttiness.

Keith Geddes, Master Distiller at Tullibardine Distillery said: “The 15-Year-Old really is a special whisky with an eclectic mix of flavours that complement perfectly and I’m pleased to hear that the judges clearly appreciated this.

“It’s a whisky that’s been carefully crafted by our talented and passionate team at our distillery using traditional artisan methods which includes using locally sourced spring water from Perthshire’s Ochil Hills.

“Attention to detail and the quality of the whisky we produce at Tullibardine is of paramount importance to us, so it’s brilliant to see this recognised once again at the International Spirits Challenge.”

TheInternational Spirits Challenge is recognised as the world’s most authoritative, respected and influential spirits competition. The competition receives more than 1,700 entries from almost 70 countries each year.

Tullibardine is one of the few distilleries in Scotland to distil, mature and bottle all on site, giving the team complete control over the whisky distilling process.
