As we get used to the new normal Covid-19 has brought to our lives, it’s great to see local businesses rising to the challenge and going that extra mile for their customers.
In the last few months many of our local businesses have made changes in the way they work to allow them to continue providing a service to their local community. Local deliveries, telephone and internet ordering and much more. Many restaurants provided a takeaway service until they could again offer to have customers sit at tables, others waited until they could fully open and then added additional services.
One of the latter was the Blackford Inn. Now open with a revamped restaurant and new menus, they have added a takeaway option for many of their meals.
As someone with vulnerable family members, the chance of a full Sunday lunch to be made by someone else and eaten at home was too good too miss.
We messaged the Inn and booked to collect our lunch on Sunday at 1pm. On arrival there were hand sanitising facilities and an area to wait for our food to be brought out. From the sounds coming from the restaurant the new menu seemed to be going down a storm.
Nan brought out our meals safely packed in containers and placed in a bag for ease of transportation.
We had chosen the obvious Sunday Lunch option of roast beef with cheesecake for dessert.
As you can see from the picture, the main course was plentiful and I can vouch for the tenderness of the beef. We had to have a pause between our main courses and the dessert, which looked so good I forgot to take photographs but rest assured, the cheesecake was excellent.
If you are looking to treat yourself this weekend, the Blackford Inn should definitely be on your list. Fantastic food from fantastic people, why not give them a call on 01764 682336
