Blackford Highland Games expected to attract the crowds this Saturday

The 149th Blackford Highland Games will take place this Saturday, 26th May, attracting competitors from around Europe, as well as local schools and members of the community. Held every year since 1870, the Games are a sporting spectacle famed throughout Perthshire where you can witness physical strength and sporting prowess at it’s best!
Sponsored by Tullibardine, Highland Spring, Macnabs, and many local companies and sponsors, the famous Blackford Highland Games will be led by Chieftain and former wrestling Middleweight World Champion Bill Ross from Auchterarder. Throughout the day there will be a full list of events including throwing the hammer, tossing the caber, putting the shot, tug-o-war, athletics, cycling, track and field, and traditional Highland dancing.
The event will begin at 12 midday with the pipe band parade, and promises to be a fantastic day out for all the family with lots to do including face painting, balloon making and trade and refreshment stands.
Entry costs: £7 adults, £5 concessions, £2 children, under-5s go free
