Auchterarder Rotary Elects New President

John Boyd, retired veterinary practitioner, has been appointed as the new President of Auchterarder and District Rotary Club.  Formerly from Fife, John and his wife Gillian have lived in Auchterarder for the last 14 years.

Already involved in many aspects of community life in Auchterarder, John has been a member of Rotary International for 33 years.  He has extensive knowledge of Rotary and is a Past President of the Rotary Club of Kirkcaldy.

He has been involved in many community projects locally and abroad and is looking forward to leading Rotary in Auchterarder over the next year.  He said, “Rotary is a wonderful organisation which enables the members to live beyond themselves, by experiencing projects in communities, both locally and abroad, which would not be possible without Rotary.

Rotary’s efforts to eradicate polio worldwide is just one example of this.  Rotary in Auchterarder has a wide range of projects for the youth of this area, which gives these young people opportunities which they otherwise might not have.”

John will aim to continue the work of Auchterarder and District Rotary Club in the area and ensure that the members continue to enjoy fun and friendship working for our community.  New members are always welcome.
