Auchterarder has its own cheeky fundraising calendar just in time for Christmas.
Claire Devlin who owns award winning local bakery Sugar and Spice with her husband Alan has embarked on an adventure aimed at raising funds for a cause close to her heart. It’s an adventure that has been fun and terrifying at the same time but all in a good cause.
Over the last 12 years or so Claire has been a regular patient at the Maxillofacial Ward of the Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy. With two total jaw replacements, a whole year without one of her jaw joints and some lengthy hospital stays, Claire wanted to say thank you.
“The Maxillofacial team and my consultant Victoria Cook have worked so hard and helped me so much I wanted to give something back” said Claire. “This has to have been one of the scariest things I have done but also the most enjoyable knowing that it will help the team who have made such a difference to me.”
With over 12 awards between them including World Champion Scotch Pie and competing in Britain’s Best Bakery in 2013 you would think maybe a cake or pie to be sold to raise funds. That’s not Claire’s style, never one for doing things by half, she decided to challenge herself even further.
A number of rather risqué photo sessions in beautiful locations later and you have the 2019 Charity Calendar. A tasteful and subtle yet just a bit cheeky calendar that will sit well in most locations. If you don’t require one of the calendars but would still like to help Claire say thank you, there is the opportunity to donate on a Just Giving page or at the shop.
Calendars are available from Sugar and Spice Bakery in Auchterarder or you can email Claire at firstname.lastname@example.org and calendars can be mailed. Don’t miss out on this one off opportunity to help your local baker.
