As we reach the half way point in the first week of lockdown, many of the most vulnerable in society are beginning to realise just how difficult these measures are making their day to day life.
Thankfully the Auchterarder area now has a co-ordinated response to offer help to those who need it in these very difficult times.
Auchterarder Parish Church has set up a Community Support team who are co-ordinating help and advice to anyone in the local area adversely affected by the Covid-19 lockdown.
Rev. Dr. Lynn McChlery advised that they have an initial team in place and are already working on a number of ways to help the most vulnerable in the community. Help can come in a variety of ways from delivering prescriptions, helping with shopping or calling up to chat and catch up with people.
Help will of course be governed by social distancing measures to ensure as much protection as possible for volunteers as well as the local residents they are helping.
A leaflet drop has already been carried out to a large number of addresses in the area in an attempt to reach those most vulnerable who may not have regular access to online sources.
Huge thanks to all those church members who have given their time and efforts to ensure the local area has a central point for people to contact in these extraordinary circumstances.
If you need help or if you can volunteer some time to help, please get in touch with the church via the methods noted below.
