Businesses in Auchterarder have recently been the target of a number of thefts. Two females who have presented themselves to businesses as Mother and Daughter are under suspicion of taking a number of items from a variety of businesses in the town.
One of the suspects is a woman who appears to be late fifties early sixties and the other in her forties with long dark hair. Both women were smartly dressed and well presented.
The thefts were not immediately discovered, and it is only as business owners have spoken about it to each other that the number of businesses targeted has come to light.
It appears the younger woman had visited some businesses a couple of days prior to the thefts, presumably to decide what they intended to take. She then returned with her companion a few days later and the two women visited various businesses in the town and stealing from more than one.
With rural communities becoming more frequent targets for travelling criminals, it is important to keep everyone in the local community up to date.
If you are a business owner and have been the target of these two women or any others, please do let fellow business owners know. A quick phone round could make a huge difference to the chances of bringing thieves to justice and saving local businesses.
