The UK Government Food Standards Agency has issued an alert regarding Asda baby food.  The Little Angels Organic Beef & Sweet Potato Stew 12m+ has been recalled.  This is because a small piece of plastic has been found in one product which could present a safety risk.

The product details are –

Product: ASDA Little Angels Organic Beef & Sweet Potato Stew 12m+
Pack size: 200g
‘Best before’ date: 10 September 2018
Barcode: 5054070907559

If you buy baby food from ASDA, please check your stocks to make sure you do not have the affected product.  If you have bought the above product do not eat it. Instead, return it to the store from where it was bought for a full refund.

According to the Food Standards Agency “Asda is recalling the above product. Point of sale notices will be displayed in all retail stores that are selling these products. These notices explain to customers why the product is being recalled and tell them what to do if they have bought the product.”

Surprisingly an online campaign to alert customers does not seem to be part of the attempt to recall this product.  When checking the Asda website there does not seem to be any information regarding this recall.  Not on the baby and toddler event section or on the product recall section. ASDA social media sites seem to be similarly silent over the issue.
